The are over 30 golf courses within a 15 mile radius in the East Neuk ... so you have a huge variety to chose from.  If you like the relaxed and non formal approach, then the 9 hole at Elie is perfect from toddlers swinging their Little Tikes plastic clubs, to grown ups like "me" who's perhaps not as good at golf as she thinks!  If you want to go formal, then of course you may put your name down for the ballot for The Old Course in St Andrews, play Elie & Earlsferry Golf Club, Kingsbarns etc - your golf can be as informal or as formal as you wish.

Along with the easy 9 hole at Elie, our preferenes are Balcomie at Crail Golf Club (the 7 oldest Golf Club in the world!) and the The Eden Course in St Andrews ... but everyone prefers something different.  However, if you don’t actually want to play the game but rather find out more about its history and the players, you could always visit the British Golf Museum in St Andrews http://www.britishgolfmuseum.co.uk/

Below are a few local golf courses, starting with St Andrews:-
